Her mother was a painter, her grandfather a sculptor, and her stepfather a writer. This artistic environment nurtured Marlene's passion for painting from a young age.
Over the years, Marlene has honed her skills under the tutelage of numerous renowned artists. Her impressive list of instructors includes names like Daniel Greene, Bruce Gomez, and Ron Hicks, among others. This dedication to learning and perfecting her craft is evident in every stroke of her brush.
Marlene's work offers a unique view of city life. In her own words, "I am drawn to the varied architecture in the city with its dark shadows, bright lights, details, and lean lines. I especially like the mood on an early Sunday morning, as I like to maintain an air of mystery within my work."
